216 new COVID-19 Cases in Nigeria, Tally Rises to 6,175


216 new positive cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria, taking the country’s tally to 6,175, the Centre for Disease Control tweeted.

Nine more deaths were reported, raising the death toll to 191.

A total of 50 more patients were also discharged from isolation, after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 1,644.

Lagos continues to be the state with the highest number of cases with 2,624 infections after 74 new cases were confirmed on Monday night.

This is followed by Kano with 17 more cases (842 total), FCT with 4 new cases (422) and Katsina with 33 new cases (281).

Meanwhile, 19 new cases were recorded in Oyo, 13 in Edo and 10 in Zamfara.

8 fresh cases each in Ogun, Gombe and Borno States.

7 each in Bauchi and Kwara States, 3 in Kaduna and Enugu States.

Rivers recorded 2 new cases.
