COVID-19: Infections Rise to 6,677, 199 new Cases in Lagos


Lagos continues to be the hardest-hit state with 2,954 confirmed coronavirus cases, following the report of 199 new cases in the state by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday night.

That number is the highest daily toll registered in the state so far.

Lagos currently has over 3 times as many cases as Kano (847 cases).

The public health agency added that the countrywide total rose by 284 to 6,677 confirmed cases.

Eight more deaths were confirmed by the NCDC, lifting the death total toll to 200.

Total recoveries also climbed to 1,840, with 106 patients discharged in the past 24-hours.

The latest figures from NCDC shows that 26 new cases was recorded in Rivers, 19 in Oyo , 8 each in the FCT and Borno state.

7 fresh cases in Plateau, 6 in Jigawa and 5 in Kano.

Abia recorded 2 new cases, while Ekiti, Delta, Kwara and Taraba States recorded 1 new case each.
